Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Friday, March 2nd was a fun day at Lewis and Clark.  We participated in Read Across America Day!  We estimated, dressed up, made cool bookmarks, matched Seuss characters to their book, and had fun in the photo booth.  Many more fun reading activities were planned in classrooms!

Voting 2018

Tis the voting season.  First, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade readers voted last week for their favorite Mark Twain, Show Me, and GKCRead nominees.  142 readers voted for Mark Twain and GKCRead because they had read at least 4 nominees.  All of my first and second graders voted for their favorite Show Me because we read them together throughout the year.

Visiting Author Deborah Hopkinson

We had a great visit from this year's visiting author, Deborah Hopkinson.  Thanks to our amazing PTA, we were able to have 4 sessions with this fabulous non-fiction/historical fiction author.  We learned so much and LOVE her books!
